My aim is to produce detailed, quality illustrations, at affordable prices, for people who wish to invest in a unique, commissioned, original painting of their loved ones.
My studio is situated in the idyllic town of Yarmouth on the west coast of the Isle of Wight. Maybe you have passed by and found this website address on one of my leaflets, if so you will be familiar with my work from the window display in the High Street Studio, or maybe you are just browsing on the web and have never heard of me before. Either way I hope this site will be helpful if you are thinking of commissioning a portrait.
All the portraits you will view have been illustrated on high quality art material using professional artist's watercolour pastels, pencils and inks, with added designer's gouache. Used together these give excellent permanence and opportunity for fine detail.
Unlike many other artists in my field, there will not be any surprises with the price. All prices are fixed, click on "commissioned prices" in the menu bar, plus every commission is mounted, complete with glass in a natural pine frame, ready to hang. I can also offer two choices of achieving the results for the reference photographs to enable me to paint the portrait.
I will take the photographs of the subjects required with special lighting in my photographic studio based at Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, at no extra charge. Perfect if you are on holiday or here for a short break.
Just send me your favourite photographs in the post but remember that your finished portrait depends on the quality of the photos you send. Unfortunately emailed images may not be of adequate quality. If you're unsure about the quality, this can be discussed, I might surprise you.
If you do decide to commission me in the future I will guarantee a true representation of the subject commissioned. The character and personality will radiate from the painting, bringing life through the eyes that will follow you around the room.
